FALAFEL RECIPIE

Hiii, today its my first day as blogger and posting new recipe, i hope this recipe will be usefull to add a delicious menu in your kitchen, and share to your beloved one

Today i will show you how to make FALAFEL, this is one of my favourite snack i ever eat when i was in saudi arabia, made from chickpeas, but some other country will made with a different main ingredient, in Egypt they will make falafel with fava bean, in Indonesia we call this koro bean, when i came back in Indonesia two years a go, i always missing this food, especially breakfast time, we ate falafel during breakfast time with Indian flat bread ( chapati and we will roll in the falafel inside chapati to replacing chicken, with some fresh vegetable and sauce, and we call that sandwich or shawarma), at another country they will eat falafel with pita bread, in Indonesia i found a similar type of this snack, but made from different ingredient and seasoning, but the result is similar, in Surabaya ( north java) we call this mageli and another type is lentho and from central java we call this mentho, very interesting, but today i will review the original recipe only, next time i will show you another Indonesian falafel,...let's start

INGREDIENT:

250 gr fresh fava bean

1/2 tsp cumin

1    tsp coriander

1/2 tsp pepper

3    cloves of shallots chopped

1    cloves of garlic chopped

2    tbs all purpose flour ( i replaced it with tapioca flour)

1    whole egg (optional )

cilantro (chopped or grinded)

Chili (optional )

Oil for frying

DIRECTION:

1. Soak fava beans for one to two hours, pealed the skin, put in mixer grinder add cumin, coriander, pepper, shallot, garlic, grinded until a bit rough, then add egg, flour and cilantro, grinded till its became paste

2. Heat the oil in saucepan, if the oil is ready fried the bean paste, using two pair of spoon, make a little ball and fry until its become golden

3. If its cooked, golden colour, remove from the oil and drain well

4. Serve with mayonnaise sauce or you can eat  along with pita bread or chapati bread, enjoy your delicious falafel

Tips:

1.If you will used dried bean, you will need to soak the bean overnight or 8 to 12 hours, till you make sure that beans become soft

2. you can used any type of beans which is available in your place such as: peanuts, green beans, fava beans, red beans, soy beans, chickpeas, or another nuts

3. Do not boiled or cooked the beans, so you will definitely using raw beans, if you cooked the beans first it will become another kind of food not falafel

4. Do not put additional water while you grinding the beans, because it will make the dough runny, and it will mess up while you frying later, if it can't be turned into paste, its okay, just used like that, maybe its a bit rough, it will be okay, you will also find crunchy sensation, and still its delicious.

5. Do not turn the dough while you just frying, wait until its floating and the down side looks slightly brown, then you can turn up side down, because sometime, you will find your dough is too runny, if you will turn up side down when you just frying sometime it will crumbling, and you will not found falafel ball, but oil beans soup.

we call this tolo beans, its came from long bean/snack bean, i add this beans into my falafel to make crunchy texture, you can try also

easy and tasty, have a try and please share

to me your falafel, have a nice cooking homemade and healthy food, see you
